A Hollywood A-lister has been exchanging tongue-in-cheek blows with Blyth Spartans fans on social media in the build-up to this weekend's FA Cup clash against Wrexham.
Wrexham FC, which recently shot to fame after the club was bought by American actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, face the Northumberland club in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Reynolds - famous for playing marvel character Deadpool - and Blyth supporters group Green Army have exchanged playful tweets in the build up. The Army debuted a banner which reads: “Ready your breakfast and eat hearty, for tonight we dine in hell” - a line made famous by Greek Spartans-based film 300 - with Deadpool's head on a spike.

The actor responded saying: "Hell gets surprisingly positive reviews on Yelp", to the amusement of his 20 million followers. Green Army retorted that it would save him a pie at the match, which "receives better reviews".
Jokes aside, Blyth are currently 21st in football’s sixth tier while Wrexham, second in the league above, are eyeing promotion to League Two with Saturday’s match promises to be a fierce battle.
The sides last met in 1978 at St James’ Park, drawing crowds of more than 43,000, which saw Blyth knocked out of the FA cup due to controversial decisions while some 10,000 fans were locked out the ground.
But the meeting of the two historic sides at Blyth's Croft Park on Saturday (October 15) promises to be a positive one this time around, camaraderie aplenty, with both fighting tooth and nail for their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.
