Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have apologised after leaving fans confused by sharing cryptic messages about the club's future on Twitter.
The Hollywood stars are preparing for a new chapter of their fairytale takeover story after the Red Dragons sealed promotion back to the Football League for the first time in 15 years, having beaten rivals Notts County to the National League title.
But ahead of next season, which will see Wrexham go head-to-head with fellow Welsh side Newport County in League Two, both owners left fans on the edge of their seats with their mysterious tweets on Thursday.

Deadpool actor Reynolds had tweeted the words 'Wrexham United' with no further context given, simply adding: "Yes. This is happening". A while later, McElhenney got in on the act as he wrote: "Change is in the air".
Some believed that 'Wrexham United' hinted at a potential name change for the historic club while other fans suggested that it could be pointing towards a merger with another club.
However, the truth was revealed before too long with everything not as it seemed.
Later on Thursday, the club announced that United Airlines will be their new front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2023/24 season, with the £13billion company replacing previous sponsors TikTok.
And in making the announcement, Reynolds and McElhenney were forced to issue an apology to fans for misleading them with their initial tweets.
In an official 'apology video' posted on the club's Twitter account, the Always Sunny star started things off by saying: "Umm, OK, that tweet needs some explanation."
"We stepped in it," admitted Reynolds. "It was bound to happen".
"When we tweeted Wrexham United, we forgot to include a super-important ampersand," McElhenney explained.
"It should have read 'Wrexham & United'," added Reynolds. "Because Wrexham is going to be sponsored by United Airlines. It's the front of shirt, which is super exciting. We just really wanted to share this."
Reassuring fans, McElhenny continued: "Yeah, we will not now nor will we ever change the name of the club. It's probably illegal anyway."
"If it's not illegal, it should be. Let's make it illegal," said Reynolds.
McElhenney added: "We're very sorry for the confusion," before Reynolds interrupted to say: "But we're mostly excited. United, that's a major airline. It's a banner day for the team and the town - right, city".
Sharing the announcement, McElhenney later said: "Tray Tables UP the town! Welcome to the Wrexham team, @united"
