Hollywood's favorite couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, just purchased a new home in a quiet Welsh village – an ocean away from Los Angeles' buzz.
The £1.5 million ($1.86 million) four-bedroom property is reportedly the 'poshest house on the road’ – around five miles from Ryan's football club, Wrexham AFC. The actor (known for Dead Pool and Free Guy) purchased the North Wales football club with Hollywood counterpart actor Rob McElhenney for $2.5 million in November 2020 and often visits the club with his wife, actress Blake Lively.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's primary property, in rural Pound Ridge in upstate New York, is one of the world's best homes – where an understated country charm meets contemporary style. And, according to reports, their new home is not so dissimilar.
While little is known about their new home's interiors, Marford, on the Wales-England border, is geographically similar to Pound Ridge. According to The Sun, the 'sleepy' town is known for its gothic architecture, footpaths, and mountain bike trails around a former quarry.
Spanning some 750 acres of hills and rocky castle and cathedral views, the couple's new hometown offers ample verdant space for their children, James, Inez, Betty, and their fourth baby – whose name and gender are yet to be revealed.
'Ryan is moving to Marford, and it’s all the locals can talk about,' a source told The Sun. 'His house is on the poshest road.'
Alongside a series of eighteenth and nineteenth-century homes, the area boasts a late fifteenth-century church, All Saints in Gresford, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales. There are also several four-star pubs – where we can hope to see the couple celebrating a post-match win.
Similar to Marford, the New York Times describes the family's US hometown as a 'rural alternative to nearby commuter towns' that offers desired privacy and is 'a little bit more country' to its upstate neighbors.
Unsurprisingly, the couple's home is one of the most stylish (yet unmistakably rustic) in the area – boasting a gray-painted facade and a striking black porch, for which we've already penned our love.
Blake and Ryan are yet to share a glimpse of their new home on social media – but we'll be sure to share any images as soon as the day arrives.
