A move for Ryan Porteous to Rangers is a possibility according to a former Hibernian boss.
The defender is high on the agenda of a few clubs after it was revealed will not sign a new deal with Lee Johnson's men, with the likes of Stoke City and Sheffield United tracking the Scotland cap. Porteous has been touted by many for big move after a successful spell at Easter Road, with the 24-year-old able to pen a pre-contract deal as early as next month.
And Rangers could be the destination for the polarising star, with current Clyde boss Jim Duffy suggesting that he could be heading to Ibrox. Michael Beale does have a defensive void to fill with the likes of John Souttar and Filip Helander out long-term, while Connor Goldson has had to anchor the defence with Leon King and James Sands throughout the first half of the season.

And Duffy revealed the rumour mill has told him that the youngster won't be heading to Ange Postecoglou's side but that Ibrox could be a live option. He said on Superscoreboard: “Not to throw cold water on Davie’s suggestion (Porteous joining Celtic) because I agree with it, but I have heard that there is a little bit of a suggestion that he may be going across the road to their greatest rivals.
"So, I have heard that, whether there’s that much in it but that’s something that’s in the air on the football grapevine should we say.”
