Ryan Porteous addresses Blackburn transfer as Hibs star issues blunt 'top professional' response to exit poser

Hibs defender Ryan Porteous insists he is fully focussed on Hearts despite Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson openly speaking about an offer.

Record Sport exclusively revealed this week that the English Championship side were preparing to ramp up their early interest in Porteous by putting money on the table, following on from Udinese having a bid booted out by Hibs earlier this month. Ewood Park boss Tomasson confirmed the money had been put on the table and Rovers were waiting for a response to their six-figure bid.

However, the in-demand 23-year-old insists he is not looking beyond the Edinburgh Derby showdown in the Scottish Cup. Discussing his future with Sky Sports ahead of the capital clash, the Scotland cap said: "I model myself everyday on coming in and being a top professional. I have found it pretty easy to let my football do the talking. It's one of the biggest games of the season tomorrow (Saturday), so that is where my head is at.

"No matter when it's your last game you are wanting to win it. It's a cup competition and we are wanting to get through, and against Hearts it's all the more special. It's tournament football and it's most important to get to the next round."

Quizzed about Tomasson's comments and shutting out the noise pre-match, he said: "I think the people surrounding me are good people. They know how to manage me and they have been there for years.

"I switch off from social media. I have done that for the last couple of years, and I think it has helped me massively. There may be talk on the outside but the conversations I need to know are done pretty early in the week, and other than that I just concentrate on football."
