Ryan Mmaee breaks Celtic transfer silence as World Cup-bound striker admits he could soon be on the move

Celtic target Ryan Mmaee has broken his silence on the Hoops' interest in him and hinted he could be ready for a move in the next transfer window. The 24-year-old Ferencvaros striker was linked to Ange Postecoglou's side in the last transfer window along with Union Saint Gilloise and Lens.

Morocco international Mmaee is set to represent the African nation at the World Cup next month against Croatia, Belgium and Canada. But he is open to leaving the Hungarian club after that, which could tempt Celtic to resurrect their interest in him after Record Sport exclusively revealed he was a target in the summer.

Mmaee said: "There was serious interest from other clubs, but I was just recovering from an injury at the time, so it wasn't the ideal time to leave. The World Cup is my main goal at the moment and I also play in a very good team here in Hungary. But it is also clear that I am not going to stay here for ever so we will see what happens."

Mmaee is under contract for another three years at the Budapest club and is valued at £2million. He netted his fourth goal in 11 appearances this season last week in a win against Puskas FC.
