RYAN JACK has revealed he has yet to start discussions with Rangers regarding a new deal as he expressed his desire to remain at Ibrox beyond next summer.
The midfielder helped boss Michael Beale mark his Premiership bow in the dugout with victory over Hibernian on Thursday night after scoring the second goal in a 3-2 Ibrox victory.
Now Jack is determined to become a mainstay of the midfield that Beale will put his faith in during the second half of the season following his appointment as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's successor as manager.
Beale has already handed new contracts to Leon King and Ianis Hagi as he builds for the future at Ibrox but there are a number of players - including key assets like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos - who are in the final months of their current deals.
“I am alright," Jack said when asked how he felt about his own situation. "Obviously I am up at the end of the season and I have not spoken to the club, there has been nothing so far.
“I have said before, I am just going to work hard, keep my head down, play my football and whatever happens will happen.
“Well look I think obviously it is your life. You have a young family and things outside football and your contract situation determines where your family is going to be and etc, etc.
"But for me I just need to keep playing football, focus on trying to play week-in, week-out at Rangers and then I will see what happens.
“I have been here five years and without a doubt I am happy at the club. I am settled and I love playing for the club.
“But it is one of those situations, I have not had that conversation with anyone. When that conversation comes then we will sit down and see what that plan is for the future.
"I think sometimes the manager can have that conversation with you or Ross (Wilson) can have that conversation with you.
"I think I am old enough now that I can be approached and I can speak but obviously you have got your agent to sort the contracts out but it is nowhere near that at the minute.
"It is just focussing on playing football and when the conversation comes we will see what happens."
