Ryan Jack has revealed Rangers had meetings over poor results - but says the performance against Napoli is the benchmark.
The Light Blues went into the Champions League showdown with the Serie A outfit on the back of two heavy defeats to Old Firm rivals Celtic and Ajax in their group stage opener in Amsterdam last week. Luciano Spalletti men were next up, arriving in Glasgow top of the Italian league and on the back of a thumping win over Liverpool.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side ran themselves into the ground and it was evident to see a clear difference between the two previous performances and this one, despite the eventual 3-0 defeat. Penalty and VAR drama coupled up with James Sands' sending-off went against the home side in the end. Allan McGregor twice saved from 12-yards after the first was ruled to be retaken after a check while he was inches away from stopping a third effort for the visitors from the spot.

Despite the defeat, Jack says the performance sets the tone for this Rangers side and the levels they must reach weekly after crisis talks following the two previous displays and results.
He said: “We have obviously had meetings back at the training ground. The last two results haven’t been good enough and we have all had to look in the mirror, myself included.
“Wednesday night was an opportunity for us in front of our fans to go and get a positive result. We haven’t managed to do that but it was clear to see that everyone was giving their all and ran ourselves into the ground.
“Hopefully going forward that is the benchmark for us as a squad and as a team when everyone on the pitch can empty the tank. When you do that, more often than not, you will get the result.”
