Ryan Gravenberch drops transfer hint amid Erik ten Hag and Manchester United links

Ajax starlet Ryan Gravenberch insists he is ready to take the next step in his career amid mooted suggestions that he might follow Erik ten Hag to Manchester United this summer window. Elite clubs from across Europe are on red alert when it comes to Gravenberch due to his contract situation.

A highly-rated product of the famous Amsterdam system, box-to-box midfielder Gravenberch has Bayern Munich and Real Madrid chasing his signature with 12 months to run on his agreement. It means Ajax will, realistically, have to cash in on him rather than risk losing the Netherlands international for nothing.

Gravenberch, 20, has already been capped 10 times at senior level. Beyond that he has played 103 matches for Ajax in all competitions and formed a key part of their line-up under Ten Hag. Of course, the Dutchman has started work at Old Trafford as he turns his attentions to a rebuild.

As you would expect given his notable success in Amsterdam - winning three Eredivisie titles and two KNVB Cup trophies in four and a half years - Ten Hag continues to be linked with Ajax players past and present. Among them are firm United targets Jurrien Timber and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

However, there are suggestions - or hope - he might pursue Gravenberch for a cut-price transfer despite, as things stand, Bayern appearing to be the frontrunners for the 20-year-old and his all-action services.

So what is next for the Netherlands sensation?

During his Q&A interview with FourFourTwo magazine, Gravenberch said: "You never know if you are totally ready, but at least I do feel ready to make the next step in my career. I still have one year left on my Ajax contract - but I'm aware of the interest from other clubs."
