During a recent appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', actor Ryan Gosling shared an interesting anecdote about his experience working with the late Burt Reynolds on the 1996 movie 'Frankenstein and Me'.
Gosling described Reynolds as friendly during their time together on set, but he soon realized that Reynolds' affability was largely due to his admiration for Gosling's mother, Donna, whom he described as 'beautiful'.
Reflecting on his interactions with Reynolds, Gosling mentioned, 'I thought he took a shine to me. I thought he thought there was something special about me. And then I realized that I have a really beautiful mom.'
He humorously added, 'It was like I was getting a secondary shine. The real shine was for my mom. And I was like, ‘Oh, this is secondary shine.’
When asked how long it took him to figure out Reynolds' true intentions, Gosling admitted, 'I wish I had found out sooner.' Despite the attention his mother received from Reynolds, Gosling clarified that nothing romantic ever occurred between them.
Reynolds, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 82, left behind a legacy in Hollywood as a beloved actor known for his roles in films such as 'Smokey and the Bandit' and 'Boogie Nights'.
The lighthearted exchange between Gosling and Kimmel shed light on a lesser-known aspect of Reynolds' personality and provided a glimpse into the dynamic between the veteran actor and a young Gosling on the set of 'Frankenstein and Me'.
