Ohio State's 17–14 win over Notre Dame Saturday night—achieved on a one-yard touchdown run by Buckeyes running back Chip Trayanum with a second to play—was dramatic enough on its own.
However, Ohio State coach Ryan Day heightened the game's theatre mere moments after the game's conclusion. Approached for comment by NBC's Kathryn Tappen, Day delivered a bizarre, impassioned rant in which he savaged Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz for comments he made about the Buckeyes on The Pat McAfee Show Friday.
On Monday, a viral TikTok by Meet at Midfield and The Comeback writer Kevin Harrish revealed there was more to Day's spiel than met the eye.

“The funniest part about Ryan Day’s postgame rant after beating Notre Dame was that right before he starts the interview, Ohio State sports information director Jerry Emig walks up to him and says, ‘Take a deep breath,’ and he just replies, ‘Yeah, watch this,’” Harrish said.
The video then showed NBC's microphones picking up the exact exchange between Emig and Day before the latter started talking to Tappen.
Planned or not, the speech showed a new dimension to the traditionally even-keeled Day, and the TikTok has been viewed over 500,000 times as Buckeye fans continue to relive a win for the ages.
