Ohio State coach Ryan Day blasted former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz on Saturday night following his team’s come-from-behind victory over the Irish, 17–14, in South Bend.
After Holtz said on Friday’s Pat McAfee Show that Ryan Day-coached teams lose to opponents who are more physical than they are, the Buckeyes coach made sure to get the final word in after his team’s comeback win.
“I’d like to know where Lou Holtz is right now. What he said about our team…I cannot believe. This is a tough team right here. We’re proud to be from Ohio. It’s always been Ohio against the world! It’ll continue to be Ohio against the world! But I’ll tell you what, I love those kids and we have a tough team!”

The Buckeyes aced their late-game execution offensively to score a go-ahead touchdown with one second to play to escape with a win in the game of the day on a loaded Week 4 slate across college football.
The No. 6 Buckeyes used a combination of deep passes and between-the-tackles runs on the final drive to narrowly escape a feisty and well-coached Notre Dame team in South Bend.
It’s safe to say that the Buckeyes will be enjoying the trip back home to Columbus after the statement win that will quiet the doubters.
