U.S. President Donald Trump gathered the leaders of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda in Washington on Thursday for the signing of a peace deal, despite ongoing conflict in their war-scarred region.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshiseked affirmed their commitment to an economic integration compact agreed last month, as well as a U.S.-brokered peace accord reached in June.
