Russian woman who stormed live TV in anti-war protest fined £214 but could face jail

A brave woman who stormed a Russian TV news segment with an anti-war message was fined 30,000 rubles or £214 has now spoken for the first time outside court.

Marina Ovsyannikova, a Russian employee of state-controlled Channel One, interrupted newsreader Ekaterina Andreeva last night as she was delivering her evening bulletin.

She jumped into the background with a placard warning viewings not to believe the "propaganda" being broadcast.
