Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed that its air defenses intercepted two British-French-made Storm Shadow missiles launched by Ukraine. The ministry also reported shooting down six US-made HIMARS rockets and 67 drones, although the timing of these attacks was not specified.
Reports emerged on Wednesday that Ukraine had deployed Storm Shadow missiles against targets in Russia, with the village of Marino in the Kursk region being the focal point of the attack. A video shared on Telegram captured the audible explosions in Marino, corroborating the incident.
Further evidence of the missile strike was provided through images circulating on Telegram, displaying fragments of a Storm Shadow missile. These fragments were authenticated by weapons expert and also a former senior explosive ordnance technician for the US Army.
