Russian authorities reported that Moscow experienced its largest drone attack by Ukrainian forces since the conflict began in 2022. The Ministry of Defense stated that a total of 45 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the recent incident.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the drones were taken down in various regions, with 11 over Moscow, 23 over Bryansk, six over Belgorod, three over Kaluga, and two over Kursk. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin described the attack as one of the most significant attempts to target the capital using drones but highlighted that all the drones were successfully neutralized due to the robust defense systems in place.
Reports from social media channels in Russia showed videos of drones being intercepted by air defense systems, triggering car alarms in the process. Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region, confirmed that his area experienced a 'mass' drone attack, resulting in the destruction of 23 drones.
