We’re now closing the live blog. Here’s a summary of today’s developments.

  • Nine people were killed and 16 injured, among them two generals, in a Ukrainian airstrike on Russia’s Black Sea naval headquarters in Crimea, according to the head of Ukrainian military intelligence.

  • Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said Ukraine’s peace formula is “completely not feasible” adding that the war would be resolved on the battlefield if Kyiv and West stuck to the plan as a basis for negotiations.

  • Lavrov said Russia left the Black Sea Grain Deal because promises to Russia had not been met. On the latest proposals by UN secretary general to revive the deal Lavrov said: “We don’t reject them, they are simply not realistic.”

  • Lavrov said he will go to Pyongyang next month for more negotiations following agreements reached by Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.

  • Three successive commanders of one of Russia’s most prestigious airborne regiments have either resigned or been killed since its invasion of Ukraine, the UK Ministry of Defence said, which it said highlighted “extreme attrition and high turnover”.

  • Russian spies are using hackers to target computer systems at law enforcement agencies in Ukraine in a bid to identify and obtain evidence related to alleged Russian war crimes, according to Ukraine’s cyber-defence chief.

  • Norwegian police have arrested a former commander of the Wagner mercenary group on suspicion that he attempted to illegally re-enter Russia after seeking asylum in Norway earlier this year, Andrei Medvedev’s lawyer said.

  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy held an impromptu meeting with the head of the Sudanese sovereign council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, where they discussed Russia-funded armed groups.

  • Lavrov told the UN General Assembly the “time has come for mutual trust building” between Armenia and Azerbaijan and says Russian troops “will certainly help with this”.

  • Azerbaijani soldiers and Russian peacekeepers are working jointly to disarm separatist fighters in the ethnically Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, an Azerbaijani army spokesman has said.

  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy has awarded two volunteers from Poland Ukrainian state awards.

Ukraine war will be resolved on the battlefield if Kyiv and West stick to peace plan - Lavrov

There is more detail coming through on Lavrov’s dismissal of Ukraine’s proposed peace plan.

“It is completely not feasible,” he said of the 10-point peace blueprint promoted by Kyiv.

“It is not possible to implement this. It’s not realistic and everybody understands this, but at the same time, they say this is the only basis for negotiations.”

He said the conflict would be resolved on the battlefield if Kyiv and the West stuck to that stance.
