Russia is considering what "further steps" to take against Britain as they wrongly believe that the UK was responsible for an attack on the Nord Stream undersea gas pipelines.
The 760-mile pipeline, which run between Russia to Germany via the Baltic Sea, was ruptured underwater in September.
Moscow was initially blamed and many people said the Kremlin were seeking to destruct gas supplies in Europe.
But on Saturday Russia’s Defence Ministry accused Royal Navy personnel of blowing up the key undersea gas pipelines.
There is no evidence whatsoever for these lies.
"Our intelligence services have data indicating that British military specialists were directing and coordinating the attack," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday ratifying the Defence Minister's baseless claims.
The British government said the claim was false and designed to distract from Russian military failures in Ukraine.
The Kremlin has not provided any evidence to support its claims that the Royal Navy was responsible for the ruptures on the pipelines, which have threatened to put the key gas link permanently out of use.
Peskov says there is evidence that Britain is involved in the sabotage, but they have not provided any such evidence.
"We expect that despite the unacceptable silence of the European countries, this analysis will nevertheless be carried out," Mr Peskov said, adding that Russia would also consider further steps.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesman said on Tuesday London would not be drawn into "distractions which are part of the Russian playbook".
And Foreign Secretary James Cleverly told parliament that Russian allegations against the UK were "increasingly detached from reality".
A UK Ministry of Defence tweet said: “To detract from their disastrous handling of the illegal invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defence is resorting to peddling false claims of an epic scale.
“This invented story says more about arguments going on inside the Russian government than it does about the West.”
Moscow has also summoned the UK ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert over its baseless accusation that British specialists had been involved in an alleged Ukrainian drone strike on its Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
Similar to the Nord Stream assertions, Russia has, without providing evidence, repeatedly blamed the UK for Saturday’s attack when a fleet of drones attacked Russia’s warship.
Maria Zakharova, Russian foreign ministry spokesperson, said: “These actions were carried out under the guidance of British specialists. In this regard, the British ambassador will shortly be summoned to the Russian foreign ministry.”
