Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy has expressed Moscow’s willingness to engage in economic cooperation with the United States. This statement follows President Donald Trump’s recent social media post indicating discussions about significant economic deals with Russia.
The special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, led economic discussions on behalf of Russia during negotiations with the US in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last week. Dmitriev emphasized that Russia sees economic cooperation with the US as crucial for enhancing global economic resilience.
Dmitriev mentioned that the initial phase of economic collaboration with the US would involve the energy sector, although specific details were not provided at this time.

President Trump's social media post earlier on Monday mentioned ongoing talks with President Putin regarding both ending the war and potential major economic development transactions between the two countries. Trump expressed optimism about the progress of these discussions, stating that they are proceeding positively.
These developments come shortly after the European Union implemented its 16th sanctions package against Russia, indicating ongoing tensions between Russia and Western nations.
