Recent clashes between Russia and Ukraine have resulted in a significant exchange of fire, with both sides claiming to have shot down numerous drones and missiles.

Russia reported shooting down around 60 drones and several missiles over its territory, while Ukraine claimed to have destroyed over 30 Russian drones. The conflict escalated with at least four people reported killed in an attack on the outskirts of Kharkiv on Sunday as Russia continued its offensive in Ukraine's war-torn northeast.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that Russian air defenses intercepted 57 Ukrainian drones over the southern Krasnodar region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian air force officials announced that they successfully shot down all 37 Russian drones launched against their country overnight.

Fatalities reported in Kharkiv and Kherson regions due to drone attacks.

Incidents of drone debris causing minor damage were reported in various locations. In Slavyansk-on-Kuban, drone debris hit an oil refinery, while falling debris set a church roof on fire in the Belgorod region. However, there were no casualties reported in these incidents.

Tragic casualties were reported in Kherson and Kharkiv regions, with one person killed and several wounded in separate drone attacks. The conflict in the northeastern Kharkiv region intensified, resulting in additional casualties as Russian forces advanced.

Russian President Vladimir Putin clarified that the offensive in the Kharkiv region aimed to establish a buffer zone and not to capture the city. The situation remains tense as Ukrainian troops continue to resist Russian advances in the region.

As the conflict unfolds, both countries are grappling with the repercussions of renewed hostilities, raising concerns about the escalation of violence and its impact on civilians caught in the crossfire.
