The Russian and Syrian governments are complicit in carrying out dozens of “double-tap” airstrikes in Syria since 2013, according to new findings by a rights group.
The controversial tactic of a double-tap strike is when warplanes attack a site and then return to strike the same area again as people are being rescued from the rubble.
A new report published on Thursday by the Syria Justice and Accountability Centre (SJAC) has identified 58 double-tap attacks targeting residential areas between 2013 and 2021.
