Russell Crowe recorded a touching tribute to Ryan Tubridy as he departed from his role as Late Late Show host.
The 'Gladiator' star last appeared on the Late Late Show sofa back in 2022 but made numerous appearances on the show over the course of his career. He established a friendship with Ryan, which he revealed involved several pints and even rounds of tennis.
Russell recorded a video message from the Epsy Hotel in Melbourne after performing a live concert there. The video message later cuts to crowds mouthing "Good luck Ryan" before Russell launched into song.

Russell said on video: "I'm really proud of what you've done over the last 15 years. Now we're mates and I can say that-we've played a bit of tennis and had the odd drink or two."
He also touched on Ryan's contributions to television over his lengthy career. Russell said he always enjoyed appearing on the Late Late Show sofa, admitting that he loved the "vibe" of the series.
Ryan departed from the Late Late Show on Friday night as the current series drew to a close. His successor comedian Patrick Kielty will become the fourth presenter of the talk show upon its return in September.
