Nineteen months after a TV and newspaper investigation made serious allegations against Russell Brand, the former actor and comedian has been charged with rape, indecent assault and sexual assault.
The Metropolitan Police has written to Brand detailing charges, relating to four women and alleged to have occurred between 1999 and 2005. Those are: that in 1999 a woman was raped in the Bournemouth area; in 2001 a woman was indecently assaulted in Westminster; in 2004 a woman was orally raped and sexually assaulted in Westminster; and that between 2004 and 2005, a woman was sexually assaulted in Westminster.
