Rushing attack pushes Steelers past Seahawks

The Pittsburgh Steelers went into Sunday’s game knowing they had to win and knowing the defense was banged up. So with that in mind, Pittsburgh leaned heavily on the run game along with the cool play of quarterback Mason Rudolph to push the Steelers past the Seattle Seahawks 30-23 and move to 8-7 on the season.

Pittsburgh’s powerful tandem of running backs led the way with Najee Harris finishing with 122 rushing yards, Jaylen Warren with 75 rushing yards and three rushing scores between them. Meanwhile Rudolph, in his second start of the year, was nearly perfect throwing for 274 yards.

Defensively, the injuries to safety and inside linebacker really showed themselves. But thanks to a few splash plays on defense Pittsburgh was able to hold off the Seattle passing game late. One key play was a strip sack by rookie outside linebacker Nick Herbig late in the fourth quarter.

Now the Steelers head into Week 18 and their showdown with the Baltimore Ravens with everything on the line for Pittsburgh.
