Rupert Grint to play Ron Weasley in Harry Potter Broadway show

  • Rupert Grint will reprise his role as Ron Weasley in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from February 2027.
  • The 38-year-old actor, who last played Ron 15 years ago in the film franchise, is scheduled to perform on stage until 30 May 2027.
  • Grint described returning to the defining role now that he is a father as a full-circle and exciting experience.
  • His stint follows Tom Felton's extended run playing Draco Malfoy in the production, which comes to an end in January 2027.
  • The announcement coincides with news that Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series.
