RuPaul's Drag Race: The Vivienne becomes first UK contestant to appear on US season

RuPaul's Drag Race is giving the viewers what they want - a new season! This time round, All Stars 7 is taking a different approach. Everyone on this year's cast are all returning winners, eager to become the legendary queen to take home the ultimate crown and sickening bragging rights.

In a US franchise first, the first-ever UK contestant will be sashaying into the werk room this spring. Welsh-born The Vivienne, who made a name for herself in Liverpool's night life scene, was the first winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK season one. Smashing the competition and winning multiple challenges, The Vivienne became a quick fan favourite and took the top spot as winner.

Winning the season, the Colwyn Bay-born drag queen was whisked away to Los Angeles where she produced her own internet show with production company World of Wonder. Since her appearance on the show, The Vivienne has gone on to work with some of the biggest companies in the world. Most recently, she worked alongside fellow All Stars contestant Monet X Change with Netflix to promote one of the platform's most popular shows, Bridgerton.

On Twitter she wrote: "When I tell you, every single queen on this cast is PHENOMENAL, we use the word ‘family’ or ‘sisterhood’ a lot. But you’re looking at it. So proud to know you all, and was an honour to spend so much time and forge lifelong friendships. I love you all xxxx."

Previous winners of the All Stars and US version of Drag Race took home a cash prize of $100,000. This year, rumours have suggested that the cash prize will be $200,000 in light of the season being made up of crowned queens. This would mean The Vivienne would be able to win cash prizes, something that isn't available on the UK version due to the program being broadcast on the BBC.

Other returning queens include Raja, Jinkx Monsoon, Yvie Oddly and Jaida Essence Hall. Rounding out the cast is Monet X Change, Trinity The Tuck and Shea Couleé. The show will air exclusively on Paramount Plus on the May 20. UK viewers can watch the show via WOW Presents Plus.
