'RuneScape: Dragonwilds' Leaves Early Access With Major 1.0 Update

"RuneScape: Dragonwilds" has officially launched its full 1.0 version after 18 months in Early Access.

The open-world survival crafting RPG is now available on PC and consoles. Jagex has also released the major "Scorned Wilderness" update to mark the full launch.

The update brings the Dragon Queen Kuldra Saga to its conclusion. It also includes new areas, enemies, abilities, and other content for players to discover.

Explore the Mysterious World of Ashenfall

The full release opens up Ashenfall, a mysterious continent located in Gielinor.

The region is filled with strange magic and dangerous creatures. Players will encounter dragons, familiar RuneScape monsters, and enemies introduced specifically for "Dragonwilds."

The game combines traditional RuneScape elements with survival and crafting mechanics. Players can gather resources, construct buildings, craft equipment, complete quests, and explore the surrounding wilderness.

One feature that makes Dragonwilds stand out is Anima.

This unusual form of magic gives players different ways to interact with the environment. It can even change how certain survival activities work.

Players can summon a spectral axe to help cut down trees. Anima can also be used to transform materials and provide new options during combat.

Fishing gets a magical upgrade as well. Players can create a tornado of fish from a lake, allowing them to catch more fish at once.

The Dragon Queen Kuldra Saga Reaches Its End

The game has already built a sizeable audience during Early Access. Jagex says "RuneScape: Dragonwilds" sold more than 1.5 million copies on Steam during its time in development.

The Scorned Wilderness update also completes the main Dragon Queen storyline.

Players must travel toward Kuldra and uncover the mystery surrounding the powerful dragon. The story gives both new and returning players a major reason to explore Ashenfall.

Players who started during Early Access can continue with their existing adventures. Those who are new to Dragonwilds can experience the story from the beginning.

The launch is not the end of Jagex's plans for the game, either.

The developer has described its plans for "Dragonwilds" as a multi-year roadmap, suggesting that more content is already being planned.

More 'Dragonwilds' Content Is on the Way

Jagex is expected to reveal more about the game's future during RuneFest in early October.

The developer plans to present a roadmap outlining what's coming next.

The first major post-launch update is scheduled for December. Called "Luminance," it will be the next major content drop for "RuneScape: Dragonwilds," according to MMORPG.

Where Can You Play 'RuneScape: Dragonwilds'

"RuneScape: Dragonwilds" is now available digitally on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Jagex Launcher.

Console players can also access the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 through the digital Standard Edition.

Physical Standard and Deluxe Editions are scheduled to arrive on November 5.

Eligible PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also access the game through their respective plans at launch.

If you love MMORPGs, don't forget to add "Diablo 4" to your growing library of games. While no future updates will be added, Blizzard assured that the team is working hard to bring a new experience for its successor, "Diablo 5."
