A pitch at a Swansea Valley rugby club has been vandalised just months after thousands of pounds were spent on its upkeep.
The second team pitch at Vardre RFC was targeted by quad bike riders who churned up the playing surface and left it a quagmire.
The club now face a race against time to be ready for their next game, but it means training before then will have to be restricted because of the space available.

Club chairman Phillip Thomas said: "The damage was discovered by someone walking their dog early this week.
"We spent thousands of pounds on the pitches over the summer on drainage and maintenance so it is very disappointing.
"We have had issues with people riding motorbikes over pitches before but I think this is the first time we have had quad bikes.
"The first team pitch was underwater at the time, which is probably why it wasn't damaged as well. It happens from time to time because it's next to the River Tawe but it usually drains within an hour or so.
"We will probably only have three quarters of the field we normally use for training now, but a decision will have to be made nearer the weekend on whether we can use it. Fortunately, we have a contractor who contacted us to say he is going to repair what he can, and we are very grateful to him".
It is not the first time the club has been targeted by vandals.
Off road bikers have churned up the pitch on previous occasions, and in the summer of 2018 the same pitch was targeted by arsonists.
Clydach councillor Gordon Walker and Vardre RFC committee member said: "We had people on the pitches a couple of weeks ago, and now this a few nights ago.
"It comes after we spent thousands reseeding the pitch. We have an idea who the culprits might be though".
Councillor Walker said a reward for information leading to successful conviction would be made available.
The incident has been reported to South Wales Police.
