Rugby League urged to bring in "grading" system to decide who features in Super League

IMG has recommended that rugby league brings in a “grading” system to decide who plays in the sport’s top-flight.

In what is essentially a version of licencing, it is one of the key components of their findings from the Reimagining Rugby League Consultation Project.

The agency agreed a 12-year strategic partnership with the sport in spring and - after lengthy consultations - has now made its recommendations in a presentation to the 37 Super League, Championship and League 1 clubs in Manchester this morning.
