Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani has reiterated that he has no regrets for falsely accusing two Georgia election workers of rigging the 2020 election. Giuliani made these statements during an interview at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he defended his actions as being in pursuit of justice, truth, and righteousness.
In a recent development, Giuliani was ordered to pay $148 million to the election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. Despite his bankruptcy case being dismissed, creditors, including Freeman and Moss, are now able to pursue seizing his assets.
Giuliani criticized the federal judges involved in his defamation case, labeling them as 'bloodthirsty' and 'ridiculous.' He also falsely alleged that President Joe Biden was funding Freeman and Moss' legal bills, which was proven untrue as they were represented pro bono by a prominent law firm and advocacy group called Protect Democracy.
The legal battle shed light on the harassment faced by election workers due to false claims surrounding the 2020 election. Giuliani is currently facing criminal charges in Arizona and Georgia related to efforts to undermine Trump's electoral loss, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Additionally, Giuliani recently lost his law license in New York for promoting false information in court while challenging the election results on behalf of Trump.
