Rudy Giuliani Ordered To Appear In Federal Court Over Assets

Former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani leaves the federal courthouse in Washington

Former Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has been summoned to appear in federal court after allegations from election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss that he is concealing valuable assets from them. The two workers, who are owed nearly $150 million for defamation by Giuliani following the 2020 election, claim that Giuliani has removed most of the contents from his $6 million Manhattan apartment.

According to Freeman and Moss' attorney Aaron Nathan, the apartment was found to be mostly empty, with only a few items remaining such as rugs, a dining room table, and some inexpensive furniture. Attempts to retrieve Giuliani's 26 luxury watches and a 1980 Mercedes-Benz located in Florida have also been unsuccessful.

Nathan criticized Giuliani and his legal team for their lack of cooperation in the bankruptcy proceedings, describing their behavior as evasive and uncooperative. Despite Giuliani's lawyers stating that the apartment's contents have been moved to a storage facility on Long Island, Freeman and Moss are facing challenges in accessing the items there.

Furthermore, the two women are seeking control of Giuliani's $3.5 million Palm Beach condo, where he claims to reside, as well as four Yankees World Series Championship rings from the 1990s and 2000 championships. Giuliani's son maintains that he received the rings as a gift from his father.

Judge Lewis Liman has directed Giuliani to appear in court later this week to address the allegations of asset concealment. The ongoing legal battle between Giuliani and the election workers highlights the complexities of the case and the challenges faced in enforcing court orders related to the disputed assets.
