A federal judge has ordered former Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to hand over valuable possessions to the women he defamed or face contempt sanctions. The judge set a deadline for Giuliani to provide keys and title of his classic car, two dozen watches, furniture, and sports memorabilia to the Georgia election workers he owes nearly $150 million.
During a court hearing in Manhattan, Giuliani was given firm instructions by District Judge Lewis Liman on how to respond to the defamation lawsuit filed by Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. Giuliani's lawyer argued that they were ready to provide the items but faced challenges in doing so.
Judge Liman warned Giuliani that he could be held in contempt if he failed to deliver the assets as ordered. Giuliani's attorney faced a tense moment in court when he accused Moss and Freeman of being vindictive for seeking Giuliani's possessions.
Giuliani claimed that some of his possessions, including luxury watches and jewelry, were in his Palm Beach condo, while sports memorabilia was in a storage unit on Long Island. Moss and Freeman's legal team are also in the process of taking possession of Giuliani's Manhattan condo.
Giuliani, who continues to support Trump publicly, mentioned that he was not paid for his work during Trump's campaign in 2020. Moss and Freeman's team are now considering pursuing the $2 million owed to Giuliani from Trump.
After the hearing, Giuliani expressed his belief that the legal system was being abused and criticized the $145 million judgment against him as punitive and politically motivated.
