Ruben Amorim has explained why he will reject offers from Tottenham and Chelsea, with the two London clubs both in the market for a new manager. The Sporting boss has been heavily linked with replacing Antonio Conte and Graham Potter respectively, but unless instructed to by higher-ups, he has ruled himself out of contention.
In an interview with Portuguese outlet Diario de Noticias, as quoted by the Metro, Amorim admitted his concern with leaving a club he 'values' to test himself in a new league where he's not happy. The 38-year-old said: "The main factor is because I really like being here. And then, I’ve seen many coaches move to other leagues and not be happier.
"It sounds a bit cliche, but I think it’s an important factor in the decision [to be happy]. And I’m not looking for anything. And by the way, I want to value what I have and not what is said. And it’s been said so many times… I’ve already said it, I’ve had contacts with other clubs, Sporting even knows, but I always wanted to stay because I like being at Sporting.
