His father is regarded as one of the greatest forwards ever to play the game. His older brother won his first senior All-Ireland title with Tyrone last season.

Ruairí Canavan turned in a man-of-the-match performance, registering 0-7, including a stunning point from a sideline.
Cavan were ahead 0-6 to 0-5 at half-time, but Tyrone drew level via Ruairi McHugh on the restart.
A run of five unanswered points, with Canavan kicking the first four, helped put the Breffnimen to the sword.
Damien Donohoe’s men battled on gamely with two points from substitute Daire Madden making it a one-point game, but Tyrone held on to claim the Danny Murphy Cup.
They now progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals and will face either Kerry or Cork next month.
