RTI: Land sale to Former Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik not illegal

MUMBAI: Former minister Nawab Malik's defence team pointed at information gathered through a Right to Information (RTI) query to contradict a key Enforcement Directorate (ED) claim in the Goawala compound case during a bail hearing.

The ED had alleged that one Salim Patel forged a power of attorney (POA) and, along with gangster Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, illegally grabbed Munira Plumber's Goawala compound at Kurla which they later sold to Nawab Malik's family.
