Damien Dempsey's 'Love Yourself Today' documentary has been described as "one of the greatest Irish documentaries in many years" after airing on RTE One last night.
The documentary "celebrates the music of Dempsey" while also highlighting stories of his fans. It follows Damien's famous Christmas gigs in Vicar Street and listens to stories from himself and three members of the audience, sharing how they found the light in the darkness through music.
'Love Yourself Today' received an incredible reaction from viewers, who described it as "powerful" and the "best bit of TV in years".

Taking to social media, one viewer commented that "whoever directed #loveyourselftoday is a seriously amazing cinematographer" while another called the show "raw and honest".
A third said: "Brilliant documentary on Damien Dempsey the legend on RTE. Damo's song lyrics are powerful modern poetry and will be appreciated for centuries to come."
