RTE’s The Claire Byrne Show viewers have all been saying the same thing after tonight - claiming Covid 2020 deja vu.
Claire Byrne presented this evening’s show from her home in Dublin after returning a positive Covid test earlier today.
Opening the show, she said: "Now hopefully we’re coming out of this wave of Covid, but many businesses and individuals are seriously impacted both by illness and also by the Covid isolation rules.
“Now as you can see I’m back here again, I’m not in the studio, I’m working remotely because I have tested positive and like so many people around the country, we’re doing out best to work through it.”

Speaking to her first guest, Dr. Dara Hume, Claire confirmed that she is in fact well despite her Covid diagnosis, and said she is one of the lucky ones to dodge the worst effects of the virus.
Throughout the early parts of the show, she discussed the recent hike in cases nationwide and was joined by Professor Sam McConkey and Professor Luke O’Neill who both spoke on the severity of the current situation.
Many viewers then took to social media, echoing the same tone in reference to the unwelcome deja vu they were experiencing while tuning in.
One viewer wrote: “Claire Byrne is live from her covid shed tonight with Luke O’Neill and Sam McConkey as guests…………. This is April 2022 right ?”
Another said: “Ah Claire Byrne in her shed and a feature on Luke O' Neil, starting to feel just like the good old days.”
A third wrote on Twitter: “My census time capsule entry, Is Claire Byrne still in her shed?”
While another person said: “Claire Byrne is back in the shed! 2020 dejavu.”
