RTE star Doireann Garrihy has ruled herself out of the running to be the next host of the Late Late Show.
Bookies speculated the 2FM Breakfast presenter could screen test for the job after her success hosting RTE’S flagship show, Dancing With The Stars.
But Doireann revealed she isn’t eyeing up Ryan Tubridy’s job just yet.

She told us: “I think the conversation is so funny because Ryan hasn’t even left the gig yet and I'm like can we all just please reflect on the incredible job he has done for the past 14 years and let him have his swan song until the end of May.
“My journey and path at this age and stage of my life… the Late Late isn’t in it.
“It’s not in my path.
“I’m just fresh off Dancing With The Stars… and it is that kind of TV that I have my eye on.”
Doireann co-hosted the Rte One show alongside Jennifer Zamparelli and the pair hit it off on screen.
She admitted she was relieved fans didn’t pit her against Jennifer throughout the series.
“Completely. Yeah, it was definitely on my mind when you’re coming into something new, and it is very unusual for the two presenters to be female so I thought that would be, maybe, something that would happen.
“From the off, there was a real sense of people getting behind us and such lovely feedback and messages on Instagram or even on the street. That’s just an indication of just how big Dancing With The Stars is as well. "Before Dancing With The Stars, people might give me a nod on the street and say 'Breakfast show'.
“Now it has just gone up a level in terms of Dancing With The Stars and the audience it reaches.
“I suppose a lot of kids now say 'oh that’s that the girl from Dancing With The Stars', which is so lovely.”
Doireann was speaking at the launch of this year’s VIP Style Awards, where she was announced as the host of the annual glitzy event for a second year.
Attending the official launch with Doireann were a selection of our stylish nominees, including Celia Holman Lee, Louise Cooney Ellen Keane, Erika Cody, Laura Fox, Lorraine Keane, Louise Mc Sharry, James Patrice, Laura Nolan, and Pamela Uba, to name just a few.
The VIP Style Awards are moving to a new location from the Marker Hotel to The Dublin Royal Convention Centre on May 26.
Speaking about hosting the event for a second year, Doireann said: “I’m delighted to be back. Last year was my first year and so it was a little bit more nerve wracking, so it was great to come back and do it with one under my belt. "It’s such a great night and it is so much fun.
“It’s definitely the most fun event in the Irish calendar.
“I haven’t even spoken to Ailbhe and Aoibhin properly about whether they can go or not. I mean, they pop out babies to beat the band so who actually knows if they can bring baby sitters or not,” she said laughing.
Asked if she’ll instead ask new boyfriend and comedian Mark Mehigan to walk the red carpet, she teased: “I haven’t approached that subject yet but we’ll see.”
The couple have just returned from a ten day holiday in Spain and Doireann gushed about her new relationship and how she met the Sunday Roast host.
“I think a lot of the cliches are true that when you are least expecting it or looking for it, it happens, which is kind of what happened with Mark and I and when it is right it is right, you don’t even need to think about making time. "It just happens. It’s about being with someone who is understanding of where you’re at and vice versa and I think things slot into place nicely when it feels right.
“I followed him on Instagram. His cousin is a producer on 2FM. He followed me back. His cousin was going to one of his stand-up gigs and I had remembered him from Facebook videos. He’s gone viral a good few times on whatever.
“So I followed him and he followed back. Then he DM’d me. These are important details,” she said laughing.
