RTE star Ryan Tubridy has shared a rare snap with his gorgeous mother Catherine as the pair take part in a family documentary.
The Late Late Show host shared a snap of his mother, his uncle David and his cousin Sinead on his Instagram.
The Dubliner explained the reason why they met up, saying his cousin Sinead is making a documentary on their political family.
Ryan said: "Introducing my mum, Catherine, my uncle David and cousin Sinéad who brought us together yesterday to film us chatting about our great grandmother, Mary Coyle.
"It was a beautiful experience and I learnt many things I never knew before.
"It’s just for us as a family but I would highly recommend it as an exercise. All you need is a phone and an enthusiastic family member like Sinéad!"
Speaking on his RTE Radio 1 show, Ryan revealed the meet up was something he always wanted to do.
He said: “I had a lovely experience yesterday whereby a cousin of mine, Sinead Andrews, was doing some research into our shared grandmother, who we didn’t meet because she sadly passed away before we were born.
“She’s very interested in her and bringing her out of the shadows of history so with that mind she invited myself, my mother Catherine and her father David to sit around a table and she organised a camera to film us talking about their mother, our grandmother for about an hour.
“And reminiscing about their childhood and what happened in their lives and their brothers, who sadly all of whom have passed away and their mother and father and their relationships, their politics, their history, their wars of independence.
“And it was fascinating. It was really fascinating to see a side of my mother I never saw before, a side of my uncle I never saw before and probably one of the most interesting interviews ever conducted.
“But it was of course not an interview, it was a conversation.”
He added that the meeting was something he “really wanted to do” but “never got it together” until his cousin Sinead organised it.
