Eoin McGee has revealed the key tips that you can do when on a night out in order to save yourself a bit of money.
And he did so while pulling pints with one of the country's most notorious pintmen in the form of the Guinness Guru (a.k.a Daragh Curran.)
Daragh has become quite the sensation by travelling around the country and Europe rating pints of the black stuff, but has recently branched into podcasting via The Guinness Guru Show.

Given that we're smack in the middle of a cost of living crisis, who better to get on as a guest than Eoin McGee - financial planner, bestselling author and presenter of 'How to be Good with Money' on RTÉ.
As Daragh pointed out, we've all had a night out where you're delighted with life at the start with your pint or your spirit, and then you check the bank account the next morning and you've spent €300 on a night out.
Eoin chimed in with three crucial tips to help out if you find yourself in a situation like that.
Use cash
"You have to find what works for you," Eoin began.
"One of the things I would say is, if you're doing big nights out like that, it's very easy when you have had four or five or more pints to lose track of what your spending is.
"Cash in the pocket is key. If you take out your taxi fare and put it in your back pocket, then that's locked away. You know it's there, and you work away with whatever cash you have after that.
"I'm not into people who say 'don't get into rounds' - absolutely not.
"Cash is king - because you can feel the money. We spend around 10-15% more money when we tap contactless compared to when we use cash.
"When it's two in the morning and you're in McDonalds and you queue and you've a tenner in your pocket and you have to think about whether you're going large - but if you've your card, you just tap."
Set a limit while sober
Another key point about taking the cash out is to not get tempted by using it, according to McGee.
"Remember, it's not a target. Some people will just do it much better by going via card because they keep an eye on it. Others are lost causes."
Don't give yourself grief if you overspend
This was perhaps the point Eoin stressed the most during the chat with the Guru, which can be watched here.
"Go out and enjoy your evening, but don't have money be at the forefront of your head on a night out," he urged
You work hard, you earn your money and you need to enjoy it. Particularly the next day. Giving yourself hell the next day because you spent X amount is not going to bring the money back. Move on, and if you need to change it the next time you're out, do so."
