RTE's Blathnaid Treacy forced to take early maternity leave due to health problems

Blathnaid Treacy revealed how she was forced to take early maternity leave this week.

The RTE star is pregnant with her first child with her husband Charlie Moon. The Bray presenter is due to give birth to a baby girl in just a few weeks.

Blathnaid, 34, spoke about how she has been struggling with sciatica and has had to leave work a week earlier than planned. Speaking to her followers on Instagram, she said: "I've had sciatica so I had to leave work a week early because I literally couldn't walk.

"I've been taking it easy and the major sting pain is gone which is great. So I've been just doing a few little bits.

She explained: "I got a massage. I got a little bit of reflexology done and that actually does seem to have done the trick which is great.

"I am the waddliest waddler that you'll ever see. If you do see me walking around just don't laugh at me because I'm like a duck waddling around," she laughed.

Treacy and her husband, jazz musician Charlie Moon tied the knot in Ireland in 2019 after getting engaged in Mexico in 2018, and they got married ten months later at a small Wicklow ceremony in front of family and friends.
