RTE Room To Improve viewers turn off final episode while Tommy Tiernan suffers ratings blow

Dancing With The Stars trumped the weekend TV ratings – as Tommy Tiernan and Dermot Bannon saw thousands tuning out of their shows.

Figures released by RTE revealed that the glitzy dance show saw an average of 469,000 people watching the series as Dr Marie Cassidy was voted out of the competition on Sunday night.

A spokesman for RTE said: “Show 4 of Dancing with the Stars was Movie Week and saw the second elimination of the series, as former State Pathologist Marie Cassidy and her pro partner Stephen Vincent left the series.

Figures released by RTE revealed the comedian saw a further 19,000 people turning off his Saturday night chat show as an average 400,000 tuned in, compared to 419,000 watching the show last Saturday week and an average 458,000 tuning in two weeks ago.
