Dancing With The Stars trumped the weekend TV ratings – as Tommy Tiernan and Dermot Bannon saw thousands tuning out of their shows.
Figures released by RTE revealed that the glitzy dance show saw an average of 469,000 people watching the series as Dr Marie Cassidy was voted out of the competition on Sunday night.
A spokesman for RTE said: “Show 4 of Dancing with the Stars was Movie Week and saw the second elimination of the series, as former State Pathologist Marie Cassidy and her pro partner Stephen Vincent left the series.

"The show had an average audience of 469,000 viewers (including RTÉ One+1), and a 39% share. On the RTÉ Player, the first four episodes have had 161,000 streams, live and on-demand, to date.”
Elsewhere, Tommy Tiernan suffered another ratings blow to his chat show as almost 20,000 more viewers tuned out.
Figures released by RTE revealed the comedian saw a further 19,000 people turning off his Saturday night chat show as an average 400,000 tuned in, compared to 419,000 watching the show last Saturday week and an average 458,000 tuning in two weeks ago.
A spokesman for RTE said: “The Tommy Tiernan Show on Saturday (28 Jan) had an average audience of 400,000 viewers (Live Plus VOSDAL) on RTÉ One (inc RTÉ One +1).
“This series of The Tommy Tiernan Show has had 262,000 streams on the RTÉ Player to date.”
And figures by RTE also reveal Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy saw the same number of viewers tuning in to the RTE One chat show on Friday night as Tommy.
A spokesman said: “Friday’s Late Late Show was watched by 400,000 viewers across RTÉ One (inc RTÉ One +1) with an average of 39% share on RTÉ One. Plus, RTÉ Player has generated 586,000 streams so far for the current series.”
Elsewhere, the final episode of Room To Improve took a nose dive as more than 17,000 tuned out on Sunday night.
The fourth and final episode had an average 393,300 viewers and a 35% share on RTÉ One. Meanwhile on RTÉ One +1 it had 28,400 viewers and a 4% share, compared to episode three, which saw an average 410,400 watching the programme.
