Room To Improve viewers were left impressed as they watched the season finale of the popular show on RTE One on Sunday night.
Architect Dermot Bannon was working with Andy and Ann-Marie Gray who wanted to extend and de-clutter their three-bedroom semi-detached home in Castleknock, west Dublin.
Dermot completed the 12-week home renovation, despite the couple making last-minute decisions on the kitchen’s interior design.
The couple had an original budget of €180,000, with plans coming in at €8,000 over that, although some savings were made along the way and the final project cost a total of €186,000.
However, viewers were left 'googling' one unusual feature for drying clothes installed in the home: the heat pump drying cabinet.
On the show Dermot explained: “Every single house I went to in Sweden had one of these. I don’t know why we don’t have them in Ireland."
And Room To Improve fans appeared to agree, with one person writing on Twitter: "All of Ireland now googling heat pump drying cabinet #RoomToImprove."
Another commented: "I want a drying press #RoomToImprove."
A third added: "Watching #RoomToImprove tonight. Drying cabinets. What a great idea! Bought a dehumidifier recently…. Great for drying clothes!"
Another social media user said: "The heat pump drying press has me far too excited and intrigued than I should be #RoomToImprove"
Even the official Twitter account for RTE chimed in, writing: "Okay but who else is jealous of the drying cabinet? #RoomToImprove"
