Charlie Bird has thanked An Post after one of their postmen went above and beyond to deliver him a present ahead of Climb with Charile.
On Saturday week, the former RTE newsreader, as well as a whole host of famous friends and supporters, will scale Croagh Patrick in Mayo to raise vital funds for the Irish Motor Neurone's Association and Pieta House.
Charlie, who has been honest and open in his battle with motor neurone's disease since being diagnosed towards the end of last year, has admitted that he still struggles on some days.
And over the weekend, he received a special delivery from a follower.
Though we don't know what was sent, it manged to reach Charlie - even though there was no address!
Charlie explained: "Thank you An Post this just arrived for me today. Another example of the hand of friendship."
Over €600,000 has been raised for the two charities so far.
Over 143 climbs will take place across the country alongside Charlie's climb of the mountain in Mayo.
Charlie has said: "My motor neurone disease diagnosis was devastating but I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received from the general public, it’s been a huge source of strength for me and my family. I want to use the outpouring of support to help other people suffering with a terminal illness, and those suffering from thoughts of suicide and self-harm."
