Many RTE Late Late Show viewers will be curious as to why audience members wear face coverings even though all Covid rules have been lifted.
Masks are only required in healthcare settings in Ireland after nearly all restrictions were lifted after two years of the pandemic.
They are also recommended when using public transport, including in taxis, as well as in bus and rail stations.

However, RTE is still mandating that masks be worn when people are on its premises.
The exception to this is when contributors are appearing on camera or are part of a news report or programme.
This means audience members on some of the nation's most popular shows, including the Late Late, are asked to continue to wear face coverings.
The only time they are not required to don a mask is when they are eating and drinking, with audience guests served "non-alcohol refreshments" upon their arrival in studio.
A spokesperson for RTE said: "All persons, including audience members, are required to wear face coverings while on RTE premises. However, contributors to programmes on camera, as part of a news report or programme, are exempt from wearing masks.
"This has been the case throughout the pandemic. In addition, face masks are not required where people are eating or drinking.
"The mask-wearing control was established through the RTE risk assessment process.
"This is in line with 'good practice' public health advice and the Government Transitional Protocols where it is advised to wear face coverings in crowded settings.
"It is further advised, within this Protocol, that people in high-risk or very high-risk categories wear face coverings."
They added: "All Late Late Show audience members are asked to continue to wear face-coverings except when contributing to camera as part of the programme.
"These measures are in place to protect RTE output and maintain a safe environment for all and are continuously reviewed on an ongoing basis.
"Non-alcohol refreshments are offered to audience members upon arrival."
