RTE Late Late Show guest Niall Horan becomes 'extremely ill' on flight

Former One Direction star Niall Horan revealed that he became "extremely ill" onboard a British Airways flight as he took to social media to thank staff who offered their help.

The 28-year-old musician is set to appear on The Late Late Show tonight.

Niall took to Twitter to write: "Thank you to the staff on that @British_Airways flight. I was extremely ill and they took such good care of me."

British Airways' official Twitter account responded to the singer: "Thanks for your lovely comments about the care you received from our crew on your flight, Niall. We'll be sure to pass on your thanks to them."

Fans were also quick to respond to Niall with their well wishes.

Niall did not reveal what illness he suffered with while onboard the flight.

The singer was recently spotted at the Super Bowl LVI with pop star Sean Mendes last Sunday.

Niall will join Ryan Tubridy tonight from Los Angeles.

As well as Niall, Friday night's Late Late Show line-up includes Leona Maguire who will appear fresh from her history-making performance in becoming the first Irish woman to win on the LPGA tour.

Acclaimed author Marian Keyes will chat to Ryan and reflect on her impressive career which includes an incredible 153 weeks in the Sunday Times top 10.

Plus, Eleanor McEvoy will perform South Anne Street from her new album Gimme Some Wine.

The Late Late Show will air on RTE One, Friday, February 18 at 9:35pm.
