Emmett J Scanlan has impressed viewers with his portrayal of Jimmy Kinsella in RTE's latest crime drama.
'Kin' returned to our screens last month and has been praised for its gritty portrayal of gangland life. Emmett himself previously teased that the latest series would be full of violence and drama, describing the script as "incredible".
Emmett was already an established actor before he took on the part of Jimmy in the crime series. The Clontarf native gained recognition after joining the cast of 'Hollyoaks' in 2010.

His time in the soap led him to clinch the award for Best Onscreen Partnership at the British Soap Awards, alongside his co-star Kieron Richardson. He was also nominated for Villain of the Year at the same awards ceremony in 2013.
He played the villainous Brendan Brady in the soap and eventually departed the show after his character ended up in prison. He also enjoyed a stint on Peaky Blinders during its fifth and sixth seasons, starring as the traitorous Billy Grade.
Luckily, Emmett's life is much less tumultuous off screen. The 44-year-old married his partner Claire Cooper in 2015 in a ceremony in New York. The couple share two children together, while he also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.
