RTE Guide pulls Christmas competition as readers spot 'major mistake'

Leo Varadkar Twitter Inc.

The RTE Guide has confirmed it has pulled its recent Christmas competition due to a publication error.

Readers of the TV listings magazine were asked to correctly identify what day of the week Christmas Day falls on this year - Monday, Wednesday or Saturday - as part of a festive competition.

The prize on offer was a two night hotel stay in Carton House in Co Kildare, as well as perks including an all-inclusive dinner and a spa treatment.
