RTE Dancing With the Stars viewers 'fuming' after Dublin GAA star Paul Brogan is eliminated from show

RTE Dancing With the Stars viewers were left "fuming" after Dublin GAA star Paul Brogan became the third celeb to be voted off the popular show.

The Dublin GAA star and his dance partner Salome Chachua had performed the Tango to Bruno Mars' Locked out of Heaven on Sunday night's show, scoring 16 points from the judges. However, it was ultimately bad news for the pair when their score from the judges was combined with viewers' votes.

Just last week Paul had topped the leaderboard with an impressive score of 27, but as he took on the tango tonight he received mixed feedback from the judges. While they described the performance as "powerful”, Loraine Barry admitted it was “very hard to judge”.

Paul graciously thanked his dance partner Salome for all her help over the last few weeks. He said: “Thank you, especially to Salome. She didn’t have much to work with at the start, so we’ve come a long way.”

Viewers of the show flocked to social media to share their dismay as the former Dublin GAA player exited the show. One person tweeted: “Im not sure #PaulBrogan deserved to go tonight #DWTSIRL He has been a real showman throughout the competition unlike some of the others.”

A second person commented: “Wow shocked at Paul and Salome going. The wrong decision tonight for sure.”

A third said: "What??? Nooo that’s all wrong now to be fair! Thought he didn’t have his best night tonight but did not deserve to go. #DWTSIRL", wrote one viewer. A fourth said: "This is an absolute joke, no way did they deserve to go, fuming", added a second.

Meanwhile, Panti Bliss and Denys Samson were the seventh couple to dance tonight. They danced their fun-filled Charleston to Puttin’ On the Ritz by The Puppin Sisters, scoring an impressive 27 points.
