RSPCA's urgent appeal to rehome two elderly dogs who've been lifelong friends

An urgent appeal to rehome two elderly dogs has been launched by the RSPCA.

Duke and Lucky, both aged 15, ended up at RSPCA Staffordshire North Branch through no fault of their own.

The charity is concerned the border collies could end up spending their final years in shelter, rather than in a loving home, if somebody does not come forward to adopt them.

Duke and Lucky must be rehomed together as “they are lifelong friends” who want a home where they can “snuggle up and get cosy together with a loving owner”.

An RSPCA statement reads: “Due to Duke and Lucky's age, they would love to find their forever home very soon.

“Lucky has a more outgoing personality, and Duke is keen to follow her wherever she goes, but is more on the slower side.

“They both have lovely temperaments and are very affectionate, they love spending their days snoozing on a duvet together.”

The duo can live with children of secondary school age but would prefer to be the only pets in the house. They can be left alone for short periods of time and walk nicely on a lead.

If you’re interested in rehoming Duke and Lucky, or want to find out more information about them, please contact RSPCA Staffordshire North Branch on 01782 551515. Viewings are by appointment only.
